Dead Heats occur when runners finish exactly at the same time with nothing separating them. This can lead to two different scenarios:

• Win Bets: Total winnings are split between the amount of dead heat runners.
• Place Bets: Place bets will always pay out a set number of runners.

If your place bet pays out four runners, and there are two runners with a Dead Heat for 2nd place, one of which is your selection, you get the full amount.

If however, the Dead Heat is between two runners for 4th, your winnings are split between the runners.
