This article answers frequently asked questions regarding common sports betting scenarios, including player changes, event disruptions, and bet settlements.
Do you offer super sub as an available bet?
BetMGM does not offer super sub on the site. However, if this is something that you would like to request, please refer to our How can I request odds on an unlisted market or event? article and contact our customer support team.
As this option is not available, if you place a bet on a player, and they are subbed off, the bet will not transfer to the new player, and the bet will settle as a loss.
For example, if you bet on Erling Haaland to score, Haaland does not score and is subbed off, and Marmoush is subbed on and scores a goal. The bet would be settled as a loss as the substitute scored rather than the player in the original bet.
What happens if a player retires in individual sports?
When placing 'Future Winners' bets on individual sports such as F1, Skiing, Motorcycling, Cycling and more, the bet is considered a loss.
A player retires in a Tennis match, why has the bet not been voided?
If the player you bet on withdraws before the first set is completed, the bet is voided. You'll receive a full refund of your stake.
After the first set is completed, any withdrawals/disqualifications don't count, and the bet is settled based on tournament progression.
For instance, you have placed a bet on Carlos Alcaraz to beat Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon. Alcaraz retires due to injury in the third game of the second set. Your bet will be settled as a loss as Djokovic progresses to the next round.
The event has been suspended, postponed or abandoned. Why has my bet not been voided?
Sometimes there can be unforeseen circumstances which lead to an event being postponed, suspended or abandoned. There are specific rules relating to this.
Match Suspended
The regulation in force states that a bet on a sporting event is considered valid if the event takes place within 12 hours following the date established in the official programme.
The bet remains valid when the outcome of the bet has already occurred on the pitch.
Bets that haven't settled before the game has been suspended are refunded.
Match Abandoned
If a match is abandoned after it has already commenced, and the official result has been decided within 12 hours, the bet will stand. Otherwise, your bet will be void and your stake returned.
Imagine you have bet on Liverpool to beat Manchester City. After 72 minutes, the match is abandoned due to adverse weather, with Liverpool leading 2-1. If the governing body decides the result will stand, and the 2-1 result is finalised, the bet will also stand. If no decision is reached within this 12-hour time frame, your bet will be void.
Match Postponed
Should an event be postponed before the scheduled start time, your bet will be void if the event does not take place within 12 hours of the original start time and date. However, if the match is played within 12 hours of the intended start time, all bets will stand.
What happens if one of the selections in my accumulator is voided?
Should one of the selections in your accumulator be voided (system or combination), that selection will be removed from the bet, and the new odds will be based on the remaining selections.
Please note that, when betting on football through the Bet Builder functionality, if one of the selections is voided, the remaining selections will also be voided.
