This article answers frequently asked questions regarding common sports betting scenarios, including player changes, event disruptions, and bet settlements.
What happens if a player retires in individual sports?
When placing 'Future Winners' bets on individual sports such as F1, Skiing, Motorcycling, Cycling and more, the bet is considered a loss.
What happens if a player retires from a tennis match?
In case of disqualification, withdrawal, or walkover of any player, all bets where the result has not been determined are voided.
The event has been suspended, postponed or abandoned. Why has my bet not been voided?
Sometimes there can be unforeseen circumstances which lead to an event being postponed, suspended or abandoned. There are specific rules relating to this.
Match Suspended
The regulation in force states that a bet on a sporting event is considered valid if the event takes place within 12 hours following the date established in the official programme.
The bet remains valid when the outcome of the bet has already occurred on the pitch.
Bets that haven't settled before the game has been suspended are refunded.
Match Abandoned
If a match is abandoned after it has already commenced, and the official result has been decided within 12 hours, the bet will stand. Otherwise, your bet will be void and your stake returned.
Imagine you have bet on Liverpool to beat Manchester City. After 72 minutes, the match is abandoned due to adverse weather, with Liverpool leading 2-1. If the governing body decides the result will stand, and the 2-1 result is finalised, the bet will also stand. If no decision is reached within this 12-hour time frame, your bet will be void.
Match Postponed
Should an event be postponed before the scheduled start time, your bet will be void if the event does not take place within 12 hours of the original start time and date. However, if the match is played within 12 hours of the intended start time, all bets will stand.
What happens if one of the selections in my accumulator is voided?
Should one of the selections in your accumulator be voided (system or combination), that selection will be removed from the bet, and the new odds will be based on the remaining selections.
Please note that, when betting on football through the Bet Builder functionality, if one of the selections is voided, the remaining selections will also be voided.

What happens if the player I bet on doesn't start the match?
If the player you bet on does not start the match, the following rules apply regarding bet voiding for specific markets:
- First/Next Goalscorer - Bets will be voided on players who do not take part in the match or else come on the field of play after the listed goal to which the bet refers has been scored.
- Last Goalscorer / "Scorecast" and “Matchcast” - Bets will be voided only on players who do not take part in the match at all.
- Player Goals / Assist / Have X Shots / Passes / Player Cards – Bets will be voided on players who do not start the match if placed pre-match.
